I can’t believe it’s already been one year since I published my first book, The invisible pain – my faithful companion! At first, I published it as an e-book but I can now proudly present to you that it is now also available as a hardcover book at Amazon!
Now that is worth celebrating! ππ₯
I have dreamed of writing my own book for about 20 years. I have always used writing as my own therapy, to straighten out my thoughts, to get things out of my head, and to handle the obstacles I’ve met during my life. Many people have asked me during the years if I was going to publish it as a book. The answer from me has always been; “I don’t know, right now I write for myself, but sure, I do have material for a trilogy on my computer.”
For many years I thought that writing a book would be hard, I don’t have any education within writing, but I have always found it easy to write, the words just flow through my fingers. And where should I start with finding a publisher who was willing to publish my book?
But last fall I got the opportunity to proofread a friend’s book, and then I realized that I don’t have to write a 900 pages book, I don’t need a publisher, I can do it by myself.
I had all the material on my computer and in my head. That’s the great thing with writing a biography, you know your own story. So I started to write, and it was totally crazy, the words just couldn’t stop flowing, I had no off-button in my brain.
So I wrote and published my e-book within three weeks. That was insane!
I don’t recommend anyone to do it like that! I restricted myself and gave myself that time to accomplish it, I wouldn’t have continued at that speed for a longer time, it was not a sustainable way of working, but for a shorter time, I could do it.
I ran away from my fears, and I have never run so fast in my entire life!
What fears?
The fear to let the world know my story.
The fear of calling myself an author.
The fear of failure.
The imposter syndrome.
Yes, I do have imposter syndrome from time to time, and I was afraid of telling my whole story to the world, to expose myself.
So instead of letting the fears come into my head and stop me from what I was doing, I just wrote and scheduled a digital book release with short notice. There was no time and space for my fears to catch me up.
What’s next?
I am now in the process where I am translating my book to my native language, Swedish. I know, it’s the opposite way from how most other authors do it. Most authors publish in their native language first, and after that they have it translated to other languages. Well, I’m not like other authors. I needed the challenge, not just to write my book, but also to do it in another language. Maybe it was a way to run away from my fears, it somehow seemed less scary to write it in English than in Swedish first. Don’t ask me about the logic in that! π
So to my Swedish friends and followers, stay tuned, you will be able to buy my book in Swedish soon, but if you just can’t wait, go get the English version right now!
What is the book about?
This book is about my thirty years with four different back injuries.
30 years of constant pain – the invisible pain.
You can’t choose if you get the pain from an injury, accident, or sickness, but you can always choose how you handle the situation. Although I have been to very dark places inside me, I have always found the spark to get out in the light again. I have always known that I have a choice, and I have built a robust mental resilience to manage the obstacles I meet in life.
Do you want to create a sustainable and valuable life?
I hope this book will bring you hope and valuable tools you can use in your everyday life. And even if you don’t suffer from long-term pain, there are a lot of mindsets and strategies you can use to become more sustainable and live a more valuable life.
This book is also for anyone interested in personal development, mindset, mental training, coping strategies, and life journeys. I have found tools and strategies that I have discovered valuable for dealing with the pain and building a sustainable work-life balance, also proved by science to be the most sustainable and effective treatment to deal with long-term pain.
Anything is possible – maybe not right now, perhaps you’ll have to do it in another way than you used to, but remember, anything is possible!
Are you ready to make the pain to your companion instead of your enemy?
Maybe you know someone who lives with pain and would benefit from the book. This is the perfect Christmas gift. It is a caring gift that can help someone else to live a more valuable life. What could be a more valuable and important gift than that?
